Color commentary
The writer known as bell hooks talks with students after giving a lecture on race and gender. Cited as one of the nations leading public intellectuals by The Atlantic Monthly, she is a professor at City College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and the author of several books, most recently We Real Cool: Black Men and Masculinity. Hookss visit was part of Ujimas campus celebration of Black History Month, featuring a panel discussion on race and media, the annual fashion and talent show, and an 11 p.m. pajama jam.
