Ramos returns to softball Skidmore has tapped Larry Ramos 77 to lead Thoroughbred softball, for the third time since its debut as a varsity sport in 1988. Ramos returns to the program he guided from club-level to varsity status in the 1980s. His first stint as head coach was 1988–89; during his second stint, 1991–95, he compiled an 87-51 record and took the team to three NYSWCAA tournaments.
This year Ramos is busy rebuilding the softball team after it went 2-21-1 last season. We have some enthusiastic players who are doing the work to get us back in the win column, he says. And our recruiting efforts are paying off, with some outstanding student-athletes showing interest in our program. WJ
