Hockey memorial
Fifty T’bred hockey alumni gathered at the Saratoga rink to honor their late teammates Andy First ’85 and Rich Hiller ’92 by playing their reunion game in jerseys bearing First’s number 10 and Hiller’s number 11. Then alums, families, and friends joined the crowd to root for the current hockey team as it bested St. Michael’s,

At a postgame reception, team founder Steven Cornell ’81 presented a number-11 jersey to Hiller’s wife, Jennifer Rebeck Hiller ’93, and daughters Rosalie and Mary Kate. “We’ve all come a long way together as a family,” Cornell told the crowd, which included Hiller’s parents and other family members. And Jeff Segrave, Skidmore’s athletics director, lauded the loyalty of hockey alumni: “Despite the ups and downs we’ve experienced, you return faithfully every year for this game. You are a model for alumni groups and future teams.”
