Cleora Elder Terry spent Thanksgiving in Saratoga Hospital but is getting her blood sugar under control. Daughter Jody lives with her and takes good care of her. Daughter Lisa manages
a senior high-rise for the Housing Authority in Raleigh, NC.
Georgia Goddard Charles moved into a small one-story home and spends time visiting her eight grandchildren, volunteering, and playing golf.
Glenna Green Citrins granddaughter Alexandra 09 was accepted through early decision at Skidmore. The entire family could not be more excited!
Anne Griggs Danzberger and Alex got their combined families together for Thanksgiving on Block Island16 all under one roof. Anne reports that there were a lot of special moments for the memory bank.
Helen Haas wishes us to keep her in our prayers since a biopsy last fall indicated a cancerous tumor on the back of her tongue. Ricky is still singing, talking, and running around.
Elizabeth Nixdorf Parkinson and her significant other gave up their residences in Albuquerque, NM, and Lake Bomoseen, VT, respectively, to move into a new home on Floridas west coast last yearonly to be evacuated to the local junior-high-school cafeteria during the hurricanes.
Marion Rendell Seaton and husband Jim celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in September. They have two daughters and sons-in-law, and four grandchildren ranging in age from 7 to 23. Dutch saw Jo Firor Alfenito and husband Ralph after closing her Montauk vacation home for the season last fall.
In November Mickey McBride Sterling visited Ann Hewson Galloupe in Brunswick, ME. She was relieved to find Ann looking well, driving her new car, and feeling stronger. As reported in the winter Scope, Ann was in a terrible accident while driving to Portland to visit husband Bob, who was in the hospital recovering from heart bypass surgery.
Nancy Passaro Whittaker spent Christmas with all three children: Debbie, 48, Greg, 46, and Pam, 41. Also present were 10 grandchildren: three are married; Gregs oldest is a college junior and her brother is a freshman; the other four are being home-schooled; and Pams son is a high-school sophomore. Nine great-grandchildren filled out the gathering. In California Nancy continues working part-time as nursery supervisor at Merced Mercy Hospital.
In October Kay Scharmann Mower visited Monie Malcolm Smith, who is recovering from an accident late last year. Kay hopes to return for a longer visitand perhaps attend our 50th reunion with Monie. Kay is director of wedding reservations at Darlington House, a historic estate owned and managed by the Social Service League of La Jolla, CA. The leagues mission is to provide housing for 52 low-income seniors.
Terry Schmitt Soukup has had fun catching up with classmates recently. She and husband Stan are still working on their summer home on Long Island. Daughter Alicia and husband live nearby, and the Soukups enjoy spending time with their three-year-old granddaughter. Daughter Cheri is a creative and promotional writer in NYC.
Mert Smith Ingholt and Hal finally moved into their new home after waiting a year and a half for it to be finished. Mert is looking forward to our 50th in June, by which time, she claims, everything should be unpacked or thrown out.
Margaret Tait Willard enjoyed a great reunion with three daughters and seven grandchildren. The clan toured Sequoia National Park and spotted five bears. Margaret hopes to see classmates at Reunion in June.
Virginia Stevenson Kingsley spent a day with Nancy Barrett Eadie during a trip to Boston to visit daughter Karen Kingsley Corzilius 79, her husband, and their daughter, age 5. Ginny also traveled to Ashtabula, OH, to catch up with son George, his wife, and their three children, ages 16, 13, and 10. Ginnys youngest son, David, and his wife have two children, ages 3 and 5. When not traveling, Ginny and husband Bud keep busy with church, bridge, and golf.
We were saddened to learn that Janet Wells Butlers husband, Dick, passed away from the brain disorder hydrocephalus in February. The class extends its sympathies to Jan and her family.
