Susan Viuker Lieberman’s daughter Jessica is a Fulbright Scholar finishing her dissertation on civil societies in moderate Arab states (specifically Jordan). Son Seth is an associate athletic director at the Trinity School in Manhattan. Susan is still teaching English as a second language in Harlem to adult, mostly West African students. Climbing the stairs to her eighth-floor classroom (there is no elevator) five days and two nights per week keeps her in tip-top shape.

Lil Sutherland is a part-time independent contractor for the National Counter-Terrorist Center in Washington, DC, and feels great knowing that she “contributes to catching bad guys.” She also runs a bookkeeping company that she founded in 1984, which provides financial management for homeowner associations. She now has two employees. Lil recently spotted Marsha McGeorge Hardy ’63 during an eight-week “odyssey” across the country, visiting family and friends.

Jackie Savoie Medina has worked in the art department at Hamilton College for nearly 30 years. As of August, she and her husband will be in Madrid, directing Hamilton’s Academic Year in Spain program for the last time. Her husband founded the program in 1973, and they have served as resident directors every four years since. She urges any classmates traveling to Madrid to call or e-mail, as she gives “pretty good” museum tours and knows where the fabulous restaurants are. Jackie has a married daughter in Massachusetts, another in northern California, a single daughter who is a jazz singer in Madrid, and five grandchildren.

My husband, Bill, and I flew to Venice, Italy, in October for several days and then boarded the Star Princess for a 17-day sojourn through the Mediterranean and on across the Atlantic to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. It was a fabulous trip, but it was also good to get home to our kids, their spouses, and our six grandchildren. Other destinations in 2004 included Nova Scotia and Savannah, GA. Bill retired in January, freeing us up for more travel this year. Now in my 25th season as a senior tax advisor with H&R Block, I have no plans to retire fully. I stopped working year-round several years ago and discovered that just working the winter months satisfies my work ethic quite nicely. The rest of my year is filled volunteering with the hospital auxiliary, the church, and the Maritime Museum, which I helped found in 1991. The museum is now involved in a $10 million building program.
