Sheila Barry Aborn married Roger Lockwood of Norwood, MA, in October. After 19 years of being single, she is now part of a blended family of 20 that includes her children Katy, 27, and James, 24. Roger and I have been friends for 30 years, and several years ago, when his wife, my best friend Carol, was close to the end of her battle with pancreatic cancer, she told me she hoped Id find a way to look out for Roger. We helped each other through the grief with no idea that we would fall in lovebut we did! Sheila will be leaving her position as VP at the Museum of Science in June and plans to enjoy this second chance at life and love.
Barbara Zapple Walker reports that life has been very good to us, for which we give thanks every day. She and husband David Vaughan, a Washington, DC, lawyer, purchased a Naples, FL, cottage from which they telecommute in the winter. Barbaras real-estate consulting business is booming. Last year she completed a two-year advanced management program at Harvard with 30 contemporaries from all over the world, including a record four women. It was positively wonderful to be back in the classroom, learning more about what I have been doing for 25 years. She keeps in constant touch with her classmates. Her daughter, 33, is a Bennington College graduate who lives in NYC and works as wine and spirits manager for the Robb Report magazine.
Chris Steffens Roe announces the birth of her third grandchild last July. Logan was born to daughter Simley and husband Chris. Chris reluctantly missed Reunion last June in anticipation of that event and the 90th birthday of her mother-in-law.
Susan Broadbin Thomass son Christopher 02 graduated from Berklee College; daughter Caitlin is a senior at Ithaca. Susan and husband Bill enjoy lots of traveling.
Susan Osgood joined Meredith Black Zahlaway, Liz Roman Gallese, Joyce Benedict Ricker, Anne Harvey Grote, and me for a mini-reunion dinner in Boston last year. Susan and her husband own Avon Hill Books, an independent bookstore. We were delighted she took this opportunity to reconnect with some of her classmates.
In December Karen Johnson opened her own CPA business in Princeton, NJan exciting new stage in my life, she notes.
