Roger Fulton ’81—who earned a degree in law enforcement administration at Skidmore while serving as a sergeant with the New York State Police, went on for a master’s, and later became a law enforcement consultant—is traveling a different path these days. Roger now writes hiking and biking trail guides for northern New York during the summer and guidebooks for Central Florida in the winter. Teaming up with longtime friend Mike Carpenter of Glens Falls, NY, he will publish the series of hiking and biking books, called Common Man, this spring (www.CommonManBooks.com).

After having trouble finding a position in human resources, Kathleen Oakley ’01 began working as a permanent substitute at a local middle school. She passed the Massachusetts licensure test for English and is now a language arts teacher for grades 7 and 8. She plans to pursue a master’s in English literature.
