Libby Cone Gardner says she and Clint are both “holding our own with only a few complaints. Mine are mostly arthritis taking over the joints!” Libby continues to paint (monotype), while Clint is into photography, poetry, and writing. They spend six months at Kendall in Ithaca, NY, and six months in Norwich, VT. They enjoy their annual winter trip to the Caribbean for sea and sun.
Bobby Douglas Macmillan’s husband Wally, who had Alzheimer’s, died in August at the Cape Cod rest home where he’d been living for nine months. Bobby is grateful that Wally did not suffer the awful final symptoms of that disease. She has cleaned up much paperwork and is looking at “a creative new future as a single person.” She plans to remain at Meadowbrook, which she considers “home.”
Peg Fiero Stone says her “biggest and best news” is that she and husband Chip celebrated 62 years of marriage in December. Peg, who is still playing golf and going to aerobics classes, is “very grateful.”
Gen Gerard Conroy can’t believe she and husband Dick are moving twice in 2006 and will have to repeat the double move in 2007, when their retirement condo is finally finished. Dick retired in August, and the couple enjoyed a cruise, visiting ruins in Libya and touring Tunisia, Morocco, Spain, Madeira, and the Canary Islands.
Peggy Gluck Wolf has lived in Tucson, AZ, for 18 years and hopes to “be around for a good long time.” She invites Skidmore friends to get in touch.
Harriet Hebden Avery and husband Baldwin live at Pine Run Village (near Doyleston, PA), where she is accustomed to lots of snow and cold weather. She misses Florida but appreciates being near daughters Judy and Kriss. Daughter Cindy, who lives in Texas, joined the family at Thanksgiving to cheer on sister Megan in the Philadelphia Marathon. Hebbie says, “I think of you all, often.”
Martha Larkin Noonan has moved to Troy, MI.
In West Chester, PA, Ronnie Whiting Brandon has accomplished the tremendous job of downsizing and moving to a new home, which she is enjoying. She spent Christmas in Colorado with daughter Bobbie and grandson Tyler in their new condo. The family spent a couple of days skiing at Breckenridge.
