After getting a master’s in childhood education, Anthony Morano is now working on another degree in special education. He and wife Leja, parents of son Tim, 9, have been foster-parenting a couple of toddlers, also boys, whom they hope to adopt.

Susan Detwiler Nitahara has worked at Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals for five years, managing a preclinical submissions group. She authors research-results documents that propose eligibility of new drugs for clinical studies. Daughter Lauren is a sophomore at Hobart and William Smith Colleges; son Christopher is a high-school sophomore.

Martha Cahn Pellegrino and husband Mark live in Roxbury Township, NJ, where they enjoyed a snow-filled holiday season. Mark is computer-room supervisor for a software development company, and Martha has an eBay store (http://stores.ebay.com/Handmade-by-Martha), which includes handmade quilts and greeting cards. She would love to hear from other Skidmore alums living in her area.

Debi Chafetz Levenson started a business importing wine from Portugal and New Zealand. Her partner owns the wineries, and she is enjoying learning the business of how to drink wine.

In September Enid LeWinter Davis was among the guests celebrating the 50th birthday of Emily Murphy D’Andrea ’77, whom she met 30 years ago (Emily was her house counselor in Penfield).

Debbie Gramkow Morton’s daughter Katie ’09 is loving Skidmore. Debbie, who is very impressed with the college, was surprised that Katie actually wanted to go there. The family has lived in the Chicago area for 14 years and still loves it, despite this year’s frigid winter.

Patty Abbott Michl received an MS in communication sciences at UVM in 2004. She is a speech-language pathologist in private practice. Most of her clients are in the infant-to-age-3 range, although she does work with a few elderly people. As for her own children: Kelsey is a junior at James Madison University, majoring in health sciences with hopes of a career in nursing. Louisa is a freshman at Middlebury, still looking for her passion. Patty’s husband, Keith, is in solo medical practice in Manchester Center, VT. They live in a very old house in Dorset, with two Labradors. Patty would love to hear from classmates at pmichl@hotmail.com.

Lois Keily Byron and husband are enjoying their empty nest. Daughter Laura is a freshman at Stonehill College, and son Jay is in his fourth year at Rochester Institute of Technology. The Byrons celebrated their 25th anniversary with a trip to Aruba in December.

Diane Viegas Vescera and husband live in Connecticut, where she ran into Allison Sandor ’80 in Darien last December. Diane also saw Kevin Lally at the Darien Christmas-tree lighting.

I am trying to get through kindergarten with twins Andy and Cady, 6. I am on the faculty of the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California and couldn’t be happier; it is a great place to work.
