Who, What, When

Mississippi Gulf Coast resident Jennifer Orvis Cline ’83 was told by a FEMA representative that there were no landmarks left in her former Biloxi neighborhood after Hurricane Katrina. Virtually all of Jennifer’s family pictures and heirlooms, furniture, toys, clothes, and memories were destroyed. Worst of all, she also lost a friend, ex-husband Martin Cline, who was an officer in the US Air Force and had been given the OK to shelter elsewhere than on-base. Jennifer is currently living in Wynantskill, NY, with a friend. She encourages classmates who are willing and able to look in on children in the Katrina-stricken area; many of them do not have schools to return to yet and are in real need of basics.
