Carol Elsaesser Squiers and Jim have been enjoying Jim’s decision to retire in 2006. They spent most of February and part of March in Puerto Rico.
In January they were thrilled to welcome their eighth grandchild. As they all live nearby, Carol and Jim loving baby-sitting, caring for their pets, and Jim’s new passion—pruning the many trees on their property. This winter they rented a place in Sarasota for two months.
Linda Gorham Harvey spent February in Ft. Myers, FL. She and Jane Merrill Akeson are planning on coming back to Skidmore for Reunion.
Charlotte Megill Hix sold her house in Connecticut and lives in Wolfeboro, NH, on Lake Winnipesauke.
With her daughter, sister, and nieces, Anne Gabel Mair went on a fun-packed cruise to the Cayman Islands, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Belize in November. She thrilled at snorkeling with stingrays, swimming, and being kissed by dolphins, walking through a Mayan ruin, and holding and playing with a howler monkey. They all enjoyed the sun and good food.
Lynn Pyle Behne is looking forward to seeing everyone at Reunion. She enjoys being retired, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Ann Talbot Brown and Bill will be at Reunion. They spent Christmas in New Jersey with their children and grandchildren. Ann’s mother, who is 97, lives near them on the Cape.
Diane Smejkal Wallace and Jim are doing well in England. In September they went on a two-week cruise on the Rhine, Main, and Danube with daughter Susan.
Hope Thompson Kerr had a full year visiting her sister Hilary in Oregon, daughter Karen in Wyoming, and friends in Florida and elsewhere on the East Coast. Daughter Linda and her family share her life in New Jersey. Hope also got in a golf outing in Ireland and toured eastern Europe, including Budapest, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, Split, Lovren, Ljubljana, and Venice. She is looking forward to Reunion.
Avid gardeners Thelma Kropper Hewitt and Jack won’t be able to make Reunion this year. Thelma is active in the New England Wild Flower Society and The Fells, the summer home of John Hay, former personal secretary of Lincoln and secretary of state to both McKinley and Teddy Roosevelt. Also, the Hewitts will have their gardens open to the public for a Garden Conservancy program on June 9. Thelma expects to spend Reunion time finishing off the expansion of her rockery to complement the woodland garden.
In January Toby Rowe Hohenstein and George had to leave the sunny Bahamas to fly back to Connecticut to see her doctors. Seems her Achilles healing hit a snag, and an infection set in.
Sue Kopf Mueller and Chuck will join us at Reunion. How about you?
