Marilee Karins Pellegrini spent time with three “wonderful” classmates during their 50th Chatham reunion: Joanne Niebling Minton, Naomi Engle Penney, and Mary Kelchner Lindner. Marilee and Naomi spoke at great length about the shortage of nurses and its considerable ramifications for our culture. Marilee traveled to Tuscany for a family reunion in the small hilltown of Semproniano following our reunion last year. She says it felt good to be reunited with cousins and to walk through a once-familiar area.
In August Cherry Talbott shared a wonderful meal at a Basque restaurant with Judy White in Boise, ID, while Judy was traveling through town. They “always enjoy good food and talk” when they are together. After Labor Day, Cherry spent two weeks on San Juan Island. In October she hit the road for another two-week stint, visiting Austin, TX (where her son and family live), Laramie, WY, and Glenwood Springs, CO.
Joyce Jacobs Grand has enjoyed several trips and family get-togethers. She and husband Bernie continue to play more and more tennis. Joyce has been doing some writing, taking Spanish classes, and attending the opera. She invites those traveling through Falls Church, VA, to “come see the changes” in the home she is renovating.
Booty Jaeger Bourne took a memorable trip to the Galápagos last year and has shared “helpful clothing tips” as well as news since then. She is still working full-time “and then some” at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Scarborough, NY.
Let me remind all of you that the sun is shining here in the Southwest and that Sue Smith, Mary Kelchner Lindner, and
I would love to share some of it with you. As the old southern saying goes, “Come on down!”
