Last summer Caroline Cardone married Stowe Burke, a veterinarian at Saratoga Race Course whom she met through the Skidmore polo team in 1995. Skidmore alumni in attendance at the wedding were Rob and Courtney Phibbs Boyd, Peter and Vanessa Mann Master, Rob Caldwell, and Noah Lewis. Caroline completed a master’s degree in interior design at the University of Florida. Her graduate research, which focused on how retail interior design affects shoplifter behavior, was covered on National Public Radio, in several newspapers, and in retail and loss-prevention trade journals. In addition to lecturing and writing about interior design and retail crime, she is a full designer at the Phinney Design Group, an architecture and interior design firm in Saratoga Springs that specializes in sustainable building.
