Mary Badger Jessup asks, “How can we have reached this age?” She keeps busy, well, and happy with helpers, friends, piano students (not as many these days), and two grey kittens. Mary says, “There’s always room at the Jessups’ for guests traveling through Blue Hill, ME!”
Betty Bonnewell Stone and Bob are older but “probably no wiser.” They still keep up with the usual activities, spending two months on St. Simons Island, GA, attending the Albany Symphony Orchestra (Bob’s on the board of directors), theater, and opera (the Albany area is a hotbed of culture), and playing duplicate bridge. Bob still practices law. A third-generation Skidmore
family, Bonnie is the mother of Carol Stone Luckenbach ’71, and grandmother of Sarah Luckenback ’04.
Jane Clark Atkins lives in a continuing-care community called Edgehill, in Stamford, CT, and is in contact with Marie-Louise Flinker Putney and Liz Plumley Scofield.
Barbara Conlon Bulger, in a condo in Coatesville, PA, stays busy with church and social activities and says, “Things are going well.”
Bobby Graefenecker Eaton’s daughter Sandra Eaton ’65 has a son Toby, who will enter Harvard Law School this fall. She talks often with Doris Grumbacher ReMine, who recently reconnected with old friend Robert Creamer, a well-known baseball writer.
Doris Merz Wyckoff is doing well in Atlantis, FL, just outside Lake Worth. Daughter Susie lives with her, son Doug came for a short visit, and son Bobby visits in March, during baseball season when the Yankees are in town.
Ilse Senn Epprecht has a second home in the West Indies. When she vacations there she enjoys socializing with a ’49 Skidmore graduate who also has a home there. In October Ilse was evacuated from her home in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, during the fires and mudslides, but her place suffered no damage. Some years ago she lost some belongings in a house fire, including her Skidmore yearbook. The alumni office managed to find an extra copy for her, which she loves to look at and remember classmates. We send condolences to Ilse on the recent loss of her husband of 52 years, Walter.
Patsy Sullivan Spicer and husband Charlie concluded exciting careers, which included living and working in many different countries. They are happily ensconced in an apartment at Evergreen Woods in Branford, CT, close to Yale, where they enjoy many social activities.
Ronnie Whiting Brandon is enjoying life at The Wellington in West Chester, PA. She volunteers at the gift shop, plays bridge, and won first prize for her costume at the Halloween party. She recently visited Bowdoin University to see her grandson playing ice hockey.
Patsy Wander Royer says, “I can’t believe I am still among the living and enjoying life!” She is glad to stay in touch with classmates.
