Karen Fischer Factor reconnected with Chuck Kaufman after spotting his name in Scope. Both have sons (Joshua Factor and Craig Kaufman) who recently celebrated their bar mitzvahs. Karen’s daughter Hannah, 12, will have her bat mitzvah in October. Karen lives in Durham, NC, and sees Sally Bailin Brown ’83 at synagogue. Sally’s son Jacob is a sophomore at Skidmore. Karen, who has been married to Stuart Factor for 20 years, is a renal dietitian at a dialysis clinic in Carrboro, NC. She last visited Skidmore in 1992 and has not been to a reunion—we need to change that for our 30th!

Chris Wurster turned 50 this year (most of us must be pretty close or have already hit this milestone). He and Adam Branfman, who still race mountain bikes for the same team, had a great season. Chris was third in the Cohutta 100 and the Mohican 100, second in Wilderness 101, fourth in the Shenandoah 100 and the National Ultra Endurance Series overall, sixth in the Baja Epic overall, and first in masters.

David Emerson Stotler married Shin Hai-won in 2006. The traditional Korean wedding took place at the Korea House in Seoul, Korea. The bride and bridegroom’s families were both in attendance, as well as friends and guests—a great time for all. David says, “I wish Skidmore friends could’ve been present; they were in my heart.”

Kim Kirby is an interior designer in Newport, RI, and has her own business. Her husband, Jerry, runs his own construction company and is a professional sailor. He’s currently the bowman on the Volvo Around the World Race. They have two boys: Rome, 19, a sophomore in college, and Seamus, an eighth-grader.
