Joy Fahrenkrog holds a senior position in the marketing department at Deloitte in Switzerland, where fiancé Tim Foster, a 2000 Olympics gold medalist, is the head coach of Swiss rowing. They dated junior year and met again at the Beijing Olympics. Joy continues to train for the 2012 games in archery.
John Flath married Alice Moisio on October 18 in St. Louis, MO. In attendance were Christopher Butsch, bridesmaids Amy Carpenter and Megan Michaelson, co-best men Mike Bialokur and Jack Blades, and groomsman Justin Stecz ’03. The couple lives in Westwood, NJ.
Jon Eick’s sogoodblog.com was selected as a Weblog Award finalist for best food blog of 2008. He broke several national news stories, including a notorious incident in which a Papa John’s franchise printed jerseys branding Cleveland Cavalier and NBA superstar Lebron James a “Crybaby.” The jersey created such an uproar that the franchise owner had to issue a public apology to the City of Cleveland and give away $.23 pizzas to its citizens. Jon was also a featured speaker at the National Confectioners Association annual conference in March. He lives in Washington, DC, and recently returned from a three-week trip to Australia and New Zealand, where he visited Matt McGorty.
Chris Reichart and his wife, Lauren, welcomed daughter Kelsey on January 23. The family lives in Stratford, CT. Chris is a recruiting consultant for financial services at Michael Page International in Stamford. He saw Mike Bialokur, Jack Blades, John Flath, and Justin Stecz “staying strewn” at a Rangers game.
Kate O’Rourke Storm and husband Erik enjoyed every part of life in Boulder, CO. Nonetheless, they missed family and friends back East. Now in Boston, they are ready to embark on the next chapter in their lives. They look forward to connecting with Skidmore alums.
Miriam Kushnir and Randy Steketee were married August 2 in Long Island City, NY. There were several Skiddies in the wedding party and many more in attendance. Randy is in his third year at New York Law School; Miriam is assistant branch manager at Citi Habitats. They live in the East Village.
Jewelry designer Jennaca Davies was one of 13 artists to be juried into the Searchlight Artist Program at the prestigious American Craft Council Show in Baltimore, MD, in March. Participants were nominated by industry experts seeking artists who “exemplify cutting-edge directions” in crafts. Jennaca’s designs are often based on the shape of an object or an architectural detail. She likes to think of her jewelry as small sculptures or miniature architecture, and the body as her canvas. She holds an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design.
Caroline Naughton married Jonathan Bahr (Williams ’02) at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens on October 4. On hand to celebrate the nuptials were Julie Mandle Keichel ’67, Emily Paxhia Gitt, Christopher Fagan, Thomas Casey, Elizabeth Karsch, Dana Chin Casey ’01, Jessica Hubbard, Erik Dane, Alexandra Minehart, Caroline Naughton, Mike Greenhaus ’03, Marc Gitto, Elisabeth Salvi, Sam Cooper, Joe Lasser, and John Martin.
Betsy Sacks married Jared Gell in 2006 in Manchester, VT. Guests included Megan Koster, Lisa Perrone ’01, Anne Detwiler, and Kate Clark. Betsy works in fundraising at Harvard University. The couple lives in Somerville, MA.
Naomi Koelewyn Galimidi lives near Burlington, VT, with her husband, Brian.
