Peggy Bugbee Fisher has been looking forward to rowing on the Connecticut River this summer.
Priscilla Comins Craig lives in Phoenix, AZ, part of the year and spends the summer in her Sturbridge, MA, cabin. In April she took part in the International Women Veterans Golf Association’s Ruptured Duck Tournament in Maui.
A Florida resident since 1979, Peg Fiero Stone enjoys regular exercise each week. Despite being quite fit, Peg recently discovered that she has shrunk four inches in height and now stands 4’10”!
Marie-Louise Flinker Putney volunteers for Lutheran Social Services and the Children’s Hospital. She and husband Blake live in the Charleston, SC, area, with two of their children nearby. The Putneys recently visited two grandchildren in Palo Alto, CA.
Peggy Gluck Wolf lives in Phoenix, AZ, and welcomes hearing from any classmates in the area.
Ginny Gooch Puzak is grateful for having supportive children, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. Losing her husband after 57 years of marriage has left “a big hole in my life,” she says. She is glad to be very busy too.
E. Kirk Griffin wished she could be in two places at the same time. During our reunion, she was in Michigan for a combined family reunion, grandson’s graduation, her own 60th wedding anniversary, daughter’s 30th anniversary, and a first look at her great-granddaughter. She sends her best to all ’44ers who traveled to Skidmore for Reunion.
Harriet Hathaway Macomber can’t believe it’s been 50 years since graduation. Betty, who lives in Delmar, NY, is coping with the loss of husband Mac last June. “I’m blessed with many good friends, three wonderful children, and eight grandchildren,” she notes.
Harriet Hebden Avery is still spending much of her time being primary caregiver for her husband, “Baldy,” who is making a slow recovery from injuries suffered in a serious fall last year. Hebbie plays golf a couple of days per week but says she needs more practice.
Charlotte Hilbert Troubetskoy and her family set sail on the new Queen Mary II from Southampton to New York in June—compliments of their son, who arranged the trip.
Bee Jay Huber Billings lost her husband of more than 55 years last May. She summers in Connecticut and winters in Orange City, FL.
Last summer Eliner Mayzel Tannenbaum and husband Howard moved to Seabrook Village, a continuing-care facility in Tinton Falls, NJ. They enjoy living in their private two-bedroom, two-bath apartment with kitchen, living room, and dining room. Eliner welcomes hearing from classmates in the area.
Mary Mecklin Jenkins has fun spending time with fellow Kendal-at-Hanover residents Nora Knox Graham and Libby Cone Gardner. The New Hampshire community is also home to a “very spry” Mae Huntley Eagleson ’28, she reports. Mary and husband Johnny traveled to Serbia in early April to visit their younger son and his family in Belgrade.
Janet Morse Westcott lost her husband of 62 years, Dana, last December. “He loved Skidmore,” she writes, “and many of you will remember him arriving with a carload of RPI men to date the Circular Street House girls.” We send Janet our condolences.
Jean Purdy Daniels spent two weeks in France in June. She keeps busy with volunteer work, bridge, and needlework. Three grandchildren live in California: one is married, another works in finance, and the third studies interior design. Jean’s oldest granddaughter lives in Utah with her two great-granddaughters: a two-year-old and a two-month-old.
Ilse Senn Epprecht and Genevieve Gerard Conroy have happily discovered (thanks to news in Scope) that they share the same neighborhood in La Jolla, CA.
Lynn Vanderveer Woythaler’s husband Bill died in April after complications from open-heart surgery. Several months earlier, according to Lynn, Bill had seen a letter about our 60th reunion and said, “Well, we’re going, aren’t we?” The Woythalers’ daughter Wendy is a librarian in Blairstown, NJ. Son Glenn and his wife live in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he is a VP for Northwest Airlines.
Teddy Barlow Carlaw received a note from Jean West Wilson’s daughter with the news that Jean died in January 2003. Westy attended our 25th reunion with Teddy, who hadn’t seen her since. Our condolences to Westy’s family.
