Linda Brafman Berke is still director of admissions at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, but plans to retire next summer . She travels to Saratoga several times a year to visit youngest daughter Amy and two grandsons—including Nicholas, 5, who “graduated” from Skidmore’s pre-school in May. Linda, who had a great visit with Joan Horowitz Behr in Tucson, AZ, in January, is looking forward to our 45th.

Joan Beckwith Braffet and husband Bentley moved into a model home with all the amenities in The Villages, FL. Daughter Cathy and her husband are building a new home in Cornwall, NY, where they are raising two children, ages 2 and 3. Daughter Kim teaches art in Prague, Czech Republic.

Sue Ungar Hollern is “well and happy” in Bend, OR, where she lives with husband Michael. They have four kids and seven “flawless” grandchildren. Sue stays in touch with Sally Rodgers Cole, who “thinks her grandchildren are as remarkable as mine!”

The past year brought Frances Malino both “professional and personal delight.” She welcomed a grandson and undertook a sabbatical-year project—supported by National Endowment for the Humanities and Spencer grants—which she is tentatively titling Teaching Freedom: Jewish Sisters in Muslim Lands. She is chair of the Jewish studies department at Wellesley College.

Last summer Michaela Mannion-Barruzi and husband Peter rented a villa in Tuscany for themselves, their children, and grandchildren. The family spent six weeks there, which made for a time of “unforgettable memories” for all.
