Gina Lancaster-Salguero lives in Vermont, where she raises quarterhorses, designs Web sites, works in the garden, and is a part-time snowboard and ski instructor. Her adopted older children have all grown up: Emma, 24, is in the air force, and Hugo, 22, is currently in the army, serving in Iraq. Hugo was married in December 2002 and became a father this past February, making Gina a grandmother. (She wants to know if she’s the first in our class.) Sonia, 20, attends college at Johnson State in Vermont. Gina’s own son Roy, 13, attends a Waldorf School in Vermont and stays busy with skiing, tennis, and horses.

Professional artist Elise Plaut Beattie relocated to the Phoenix area last year to teach water-media art at Maricopa County Community College. To learn more about her “Fearless Watercolor” classes or see her paintings, either online or at an exhibit, visit www.embart.com.

Liz Westbrook Hydes has been director of alumni relations at Columbia Law School for the last 14 years. Thanks to an ever-growing staff, her job is now more managerial than she ever expected, but she likes going into the office each day. Liz also gets to travel quite often, giving her the opportunity to see far-flung friends in various cities. An avid tennis player, Liz is treasurer of the 119th Street Tennis Association, which has courts in Riverside Park. She regrets that she didn’t play much at Skidmore as she was “having too much fun painting the town red in Saratoga.” She plans to attend our next reunion and hopes others are saving the date. “I don’t feel all that much different than I did in 1980,” she adds.

Christine Claar Lyon lives in Leawood, KS, and welcomes hearing from classmates at clyoness@kc.rr.com.

Joanne Rago is “blessed daily with good health, family, and friends, and work that brings joy to my heart.” In 1996 she founded Loveland Youth Gardeners, a nonprofit organization in Colorado that serves at-risk and special-needs youth and low-income and elderly residents.
