For 12 years Kenny Zankel has been living in San Francisco, where he owns two cafés—The Grove at 2250 Chestnut Street and The Grove-Fillmore at 2016 Fillmore Street. He lives in the city with Anna Veyna, “who, besides being the love of my life, is also the designer of my restaurants.” When not working or spending time with Anna and their dog and three cats, Kenny serves as president of the Golden Gate Restaurant Association, plays guitar, and travels.

Last August Joel Bresler and wife Laurel moved to Tucson, AZ, where he experienced his first winter without snow (which he thinks he could get used to). Joel owns Dial Professional Group Inc., an executive recruiting firm specializing in the health-care field. He recently attended a Tucson Skidmore club event featuring professor Mary Lynn and recommends her Skidmore history, Make No Small Plans. He welcomes contact from classmates at joel.bresler@comcast.net.

Congratulations to Liz Sweet Dowling, who graduated from the McColl School of Business in Charlotte, NC, in April. She has spent four years juggling evening classes, homework, and a family, but insists the experience was nonetheless “a blast.” After graduation, Liz spent the summer celebrating with her husband and daughters Emily, 10, and Grace, 7, at their Block Island home. She will hit the job-search trail soon.

Married to Steven Callan since 2002, Karen Lazar lives in Saratoga Springs, NY. She is accounting supervisor for Glens Falls Lehigh Cement.

Libby Mitchell Santoro and husband Larry Santoro are alive and well in Connecticut, with three kids and a dog. Libby would love to hear from old friends at libby@santoros.org.

Our class has a legacy! Gena Gaughan Boyden’s daughter Tara DiDomenico ’06 “absolutely loves Skidmore,” according to her mom. She plans to travel for a semester abroad next year. Her dad, Patrick DiDomenico ’81, owns Winding Brook Lodge, a wonderful inn in Stowe, VT, and uncle Andrew DiDomenico ’90 is senior sales director at Pfizer in NYC. Gena and husband John live in Shelburne, VT, where son Danny is a high-school freshman. Gena is general sales manager for the local Fox TV station. Gena’s sister Patricia Gaughan DiPalma ’80 is associate director of development at SUNY-Fredonia.
