Mauricio Bohorquez is living in Brazil, teaching English and searching for Samba. Although he traveled 5,000 miles to find his girl from Ipanema, he has realized that she is “a dancer living in New Jersey.”
Amanda Maddock Weinstein has been doing puppetry in NYC. She works in theater and TV, puppeteering on shows such as The Book of Pooh and Bear in the Big Blue House. Amanda has also created shows for the Henson International Festival of Puppetry and St. Ann’s Puppet Lollapalooza, as well as collaborations with Fovea Floods Theater. She is currently in Iceland, where she is shooting a new puppet-show series for Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., called Lazytown. Amanda visited Skidmore last fall to work on a project for the theater department and had a wonderful time.
Aaron Prills reports that close friend Adam Swartz returned to the US this spring after spending more than two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal, where he taught English and Nepalese sign language.
Sarah Schell continues to teach 10th- through 12th-grade English at Tilton (NH) School. Along with her busy teaching schedule, she coaches soccer in the fall and is faculty advisor for the arts and literary magazine. One of Sarah’s colleagues at the school is Masia Lin Crawford ’03, who teaches French.
Kelley Steckevicz married Benjamin Schupak on July 26, 2003. Melissa Arentshorst ’01 was a bridesmaid, and Shauna Stovell and Dina Shapiro were in attendance. Kelley and Ben live in Dijon, France.
Sam Stone finished his master’s and is applying to doctoral programs. He works in graduate admissions at the University of Texas at Arlington and teaches at a community college. In June he attended the wedding of Noah Thomas and Allison Smith Thomas ’98 in Long Beach, CA. Classmates can reach Sam at samuelbstone@yahoo.com.
After earning her master’s at NYU, Lauren Babicka moved to Baltimore, where she teaches reading to children with dyslexia. She married Morey Zuskin on March 13 at the Hall of Springs in Saratoga.
John Miller graduated from New York Law School in 2003 and is an associate at the law office of Lawrence B. Saftler in NYC.
Rebecca Wise married Michael Melli in October. Rachel Ehrlich ’98 was maid of honor, Scott Diamond was a groomsman, and Sara Rutner ’00 was a bridesmaid. Also in attendance were Ben Running ’98, Nat Martin ’98, George Crimmins ’98, Nellie Soliman, Maia Proujansky-Bell, and Jeff Biddick ’00. The newlyweds live in New Jersey, and Rebecca welcomes hearing from friends at rwise@blade.org.
Cathleen Marie Santarosa is producing feature films, network TV, and fashion runway shows throughout Los Angeles. She is in the process of obtaining Italian citizenship.
