New AD.
Skidmore’s new athletics director is Gail Cummings-Danson of SUNY-Albany. She replaces AD Jeff Segrave, who returns to teaching and coaching. She was an Academic All-American in lacrosse at Temple University, where she earned bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in PE and sports management. She’s helped lead Albany, including its move to Division I, since 1994.

Championship season. Baseball and men’s lacrosse made history: both entered NCAA championships for the first time.
Baseball. With a best-ever 28-14 record, the T’breds won the Liberty League title and went on to the NCAA playoffs. Skidmore (with help from Adam Brown ’08, above) finished third in its playoff region; Michael Rivers ’05 made all-region first team. Ron Plourde was Liberty’s Coach of the Year, and pitcher Steven Yager ’05 won Skidmore’s senior scholar-athlete award.

Lacrosse. After taking their first-ever Liberty League title, the men lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament. The T’breds went 13-3 (6-0 in league play). Tom Spinella ’06 and coach Terry Corcoran earned league honors.

Tennis. With an 11-5 record, the top-seeded men’s team snagged the Liberty League title; honors went to Russell Cloder ’05
and coach Paul Arciero.

Crew. Three Skidmore boats won gold medals in the New York State Championships, and Jackie Boulais ’06 was invited to the US Team development camp.

Riding. Skidmore tied for fifth at nationals, where Ashley Woodhouse ’06 won the Cacchione Cup for top rider.
