Betty Jones Stern

Charlotte Appelbaum Lanzit and husband Bob drove back home to Ohio after spending the winter in Florida. Bob got in some tennis while Apple walked on the beach.

Betty Cone Bates abandoned her usual golf schedule because of a liver problem. She and husband Wells spent the summer at their Connecticut condo.

Betty Eastman Peyton has been enjoying “telephone reunions” with classmates, including Betty Carthaus Burbank, who’s playing plenty of bridge in Wisconsin. Eastie also heard that Betty Bates, Lee Blanchard Hotchkiss, and Sis MacKenzie Healy stay in contact with each other.
You may remember that in the summer ’04 Scope, Eastie mentioned that her grandson Ben was seriously injured while playing ice hockey but has since graduated from college and has a job. If you would like your faith renewed in young people, parental involvement, and life in general, read Be Not Afraid: Ben Peyton’s Story by Peter Rennebohm (North Star Press of St. Cloud Inc.).
