Janet Peters Gardiner’s oldest son, Douglas, died last October of heart failure at age 54. “He was a gentle soul and is missed very much,” she writes. His ashes were scattered at sea in December. Our sympathy goes out to Janet and her family.

Mark Berman wrote that his mother, Selma Blank Hacker, passed away in January. Mark and his sister had thrown an 80th birthday party for Selma last June, which was attended by her gentleman friend and family members. Mark says, “My pictures of her at Skidmore are some of the most memorable I have.” He asks classmates who have photos or memories of his mother to e-mail him at mberman@ganshore.com.
