When Nancy Mann Germanetti’s husband, Hugh, had his 50th at Williams a couple of years ago, he biked, by himself, the 2,050 miles from Austin, TX, to Williamstown, MA. It took him 27 days. The Germanettis were busy this past winter traveling to the East Coast while Hugh was involved with a large arbitration. In April they went to Sydney for two weeks and then cruised the Pacific to San Francisco.
Alice Bemis Wiggins’s daughter loves teaching first grade in Tucson, AZ, and earned the teacher-of-the-year award. Alice’s oldest grandson, a National Merit Scholarship winner, is going to Clemson.
Joan Firmery talked to Rosemarie Corsini Cadwell recently. This spring Rosemarie was taking a three-week chartered Mother Goose cruise along the inside passage to Alaska.
Hope Thompson Kerr took her annual trip to Florida in March and got together with Elise Snow Aston, Dottie Wakeman Mattoon, Pat Naigles Lyons, and Julie Gaines Phalen.
Linda Gorham Harvey spent six weeks on Sanibel Island and then visited Julie Phalen for four days. After returning home, she headed for Cape Cod and saw Jane Merrill Akeson and Bob, who have been updating their home in Cummaquid. In April she spent a week in Arizona.
Toby Rowe Hohenstein and George spent Christmas in the Bahamas. They sang carols on the beach and with 30 friends enjoyed Christmas dinner, a beach bonfire, fireworks, and Chinese auction of gifts. At 4 a.m. they went to Junkanoo and loved the colorful costumes, band, and much noise. The winter was full of beautiful weather, boating, and friends.
Ted and Marge O’Meara Storrs went to Spain and Portugal with friends this past January.
Dottie Dodd O’Meara and Max had a wonderful time on a ski trip to Italy.
Southern California, according to Jo Leach Lewis, was full of rain and gloom this past winter, with houses sliding down hills, towns flooded and everyone in a snit.
Louise Libby Clearfield has a new grandson, born to son Jon and wife Nancy; her granddaughter is 4. The choir led by daughter Andrea had its West Coast premiere in Disney Hall in Los Angeles. Louise held her seventh solo show in Greenville, DE. She spent three days with Barbara Frankel Brown and Stan at their home on Longboat Key, FL. Although husband Harris is still working full-time, Louise worked in trips to Hungary, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Colorado, and the Dominican Republic.
In February Bob and I had an enchanting few days in Disney World with our daughter and 7-year-old grandson. Sean was the perfect age—still loving the characters and yet big enough for all the wildest rides.
