Karuna Wyatt Kress continues her graduate work at the New England Institute for Transforming Consciousness. In September she traveled to Munich and San Marino, Italy, where she was a featured speaker at a large Family Constellation Congress: “A wonderful experience,” she says. While there, she visited Venice for the first time.

Kathy Ford Lyons and her family choose interesting and fun places for family reunions each year. Last summer she and husband Chuck took their 10-year-old grandson on a tour of Italy and then met up with her family in Tuscany for their reunion at a villa in Castellina en Chianti.

Marilee Karins Pellegrini is having a great time in her “active retirement.” For her it feels as if she’s “playing hooky with no detention.” She lunched recently with a Skidmore friend who had left at the end of sophomore year. They spoke frankly about our relationships with our mothers and how they have evolved.

Rosemary Bourne’s two-year-old Norfolk terrier bitch won four of the points leading to 15 to become a champion show dog. Rosemary had lunch with Joan Simon Goldfarb and Elaine Pearlman Cohen.

In January Marcia Mattson Todd and husband Doug traveled to Tucson and Sedona, AZ. She and I were disappointed that we missed each other. The Todds hiked the red rocks of Sedona and enjoyed the spectacular views. Marcia found the Arizona mornings “cool, but a lot better than what was going on back east.”

In mid-March Marty Miller Spencer and Sue Shaffer McGown traveled to Mexico together along with two of Sue’s friends. Sue has visited Mexico many times and was “a superb tour guide,” according to Marty. Before the trip, Marty spent a night in Sue’s Ft. Worth home, designed to show off the Mexican art and crafts Sue has collected over the years.

Bike season for Debby Davenport Brooks began in March with a trip to West Virginia on
“Rails to Trails,” a combined train-and-biking excursion. She said she “needed to see
bluebells, dogwoods, and redbuds in bloom.” She loves having a granddaughter over the mountain in Vermont.

Suzanne Elsesser started a new position as wellness coordinator with the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary at their provincial office in Tarrytown, NY. At Reunion last year she was touched by classmates who expressed concern that she had just lost her position as the New York regional director for a national program placing retired people as volunteers serving those in poverty. She says, “It meant a lot to feel the support offered—from you, my sisters.”

Hadley Sillick Robertson got together with Mary Kelchner Lindner; they live within visiting distance of each other in Pennsylvania and look forward to more excursions into the art world together. Hadley is busy with a new post as art editor of the Foulkeways Bulletin, a monthly publication about community events.

Suzanne Denby Pelton spent the winter in Gulfport, FL. She has a lot of fun and challenges learning how to sail a 35-foot boat. She is back in Framingham, MA, this summer.

Becky Martin Watson is active in PEO, a philanthropic educational organization that provides higher education opportunities for women. Last year PEO gave 80 women $10,000 each to continue with doctoral programs. Becky has donated revenue from her bed and breakfast for the past 20 years; she invites interested classmates to stay with her in Vermont, to contribute to the program. Becky was delighted to learn that Leilani Holloway Eells is also a PEO member.

Alan and I spent a glorious holiday visiting Peru and Ecuador, visiting the Galápagos and Macchu Picchu. Booty Jaeger Bourne and I spoke before our trip; she was making the same cruise in the Galápagos and was my marvelous guide on packing. It was lovely to reconnect by phone and catch up on our lives.
