Several class members had a wonderful dinner at Eileen Kirwin Cameron’s place in Florida. They went on a cruise through canals showcasing the upscale homes of Naples and then had dinner. A great time was had by all (see photo at www.skidmore.edu/alumni/classes/1965.htm).

Carole Walter Maeder spent five weeks in Papua New Guinea, which was like stepping into a time machine, she reports. The exhibition leader was Mike Messick ’85.

Since moving to Amelia Island, FL, two years ago, Sue Bode Walsh has been volunteering, visiting children and grandchildren in NY and Boston, playing tennis and golf, and making new friends such as Jane Congdon Quinby ’62.

Nancy Langsan’s daughter Ariana Bernstein ’05, who spent her freshman year at Skidmore, graduated from NYU and is pursuing an acting career in New York. Nancy is back in art school, doing pastels and oil. She’s also active in Planned Parenthood. Nancy and husband Dale Bernstein traveled to Asia and Africa.

Although she has remarried, Anne Kalemjian writes that she has resumed using her maiden name.

Karen Norvig Berry works with Amnesty International, addressing genocide in Sudan.
Sue Steele Isbell met Mary Kerber Krugman for lunch in Sarasota, FL, while Mary’s husband, Dick, was at a meeting; they reviewed nursing class and Reunion photos.

Pamela Ghents Ness is on the board of the Professional Appraisers Coalition, secretary of the Breakfast Rotary, and on her church council. Husband Hal is VP of the South Carolina chapter of US Lacrosse. The Nesses have eight grandchildren.

Gail Delgado Nygaard attends the prestigious Surgeons Travel Club and is taking a private tour of the White House.

Judy Farmer Fulton and recently retired husband Rufus just completed a six-week trip of a lifetime to New Zealand, Australia, and French Polynesia. Judy has a new Lab puppy and 8 grandchildren.

Sandra Kassouf Lee left NYC three years ago, retiring after 33 years of teaching and a 10-year run hosting and producing a television talk show. In Ohio she is publishing The Cleveland Women’s Journal and Summit County Women’s Journal.

Lynn Ryerson Barnard and husband Joe have retired and are splitting their time between Skidaway Island in Savannah, GA, and Bald Head Island, NC. Lynn would like to see classmates in either location. The Barnards’ children and grandchildren live in Connecticut and New Jersey; they see them often.

In North Bennington, VT, Judy Allen Kniffen is painting and helping with the organization and maintenance of a local cooperative arts gallery. She drives weekly to Niskayuna, NY, to be an active grandmother for the day.

Sandra Koch Prior enjoyed holiday contact with Sue Steele Isbell, Ann Haberman Lineberger, Mary Kerber Krugman, and me. Sandra and I have children living in Australia and hope to meet “down under” this year. Sandra is finally a grandmother; her last child graduated from Tufts in May. Sue Isbell tops everyone with three girls and nine grandchildren.

We were saddened to learn that Lenore Bethka Wersten lost her six-month-old grandchild, Ryan, to a rare genetic disease known as osteopetrosis. Lenore is a special-education aide, monitoring testing that the students undergo. Husband Tom has a business called Applied Thinking Skills and is a New York State Workforce Eligible Training provider.

Since I retired from the government in January I have been to Chicago, Boston, and Melbourne, Australia. I’ve also started a new business, consulting with lawyers on workers’ compensation for federal employees. Please note my new e-mail address. I had coffee with Skidmore roommate Joan Reiss Friedman in New Jersey. This was only the third time I had seen her in 40 years.
