They love the sunny climate and encourage classmates to visit. Sam Butcher and Carl Howerton are veteran bike riders in the Pan Mass Challenge, which raises money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The PMC, which happens in August, is a two-day ride over 192 miles, mostly in Massachusetts. Sam also helps with a kids ride that precedes the big event. This year Carl is increasing his distance by riding across the country with David Castle ’87; they’ll join the PMC riders for the last two days of their trip.
