Barbara Roberts Magid has lived in Baltimore, MD, since 1972 with her husband of 38 years, Dick. She is the director of professional services at Sheppard Pratt Health System, a private, not-for-profit behavioral health system. Dick is an attorney. The Magids’ three daughters (a public defender, an assistant district attorney, and an art director) are “gainfully employed (a parent’s dream),” reports Barbara. Dick and Barbara spend their free time sailing on the Chesapeake Bay on SkyMount, their 34-foot Pearson sailboat, and playing with their grandson, age 2. They are enjoying their empty nest but extend a warm welcome to Skidmore alumni who might be in the area.

After 25 years in the publishing business, Nancy Reid is planning to open a mall gallery next spring to show landscape artists of Vermont as well as her own jewelry and artwork.

Demetra Nickles Kates and husband George welcomed a granddaughter in November, two days after Nickie’s mom died. Baby Hope is the daughter of Meredith Kates Forster ’95. Nickie, whose other daughter Alison was married this year, observes, “This was truly a year of milestones.”
