David Karp, sociology professor and director of Skidmore’s law and society program, ran into Anna Raup-Kounovsky and Katie Largo at a Skidmore lecture about DNA tests that have exonerated death-row inmates. As students, they had worked on research-findings summaries for his regular column in the journal of the American Probation and Parole Association. Anna now works at SUNY-Albany’s Center for Technology in Government, and Katie attends Albany Law School.

Alexandra Smith lives in New Orleans, where she is a graphic designer, organizer, and fundraiser for Common Ground Collective, a community-based organization helping victims of Hurricane Katrina. She helped with layout design for a book, proceeds from which will benefit the New Orleans community and relief effort.
