Margie Bowers Rogers is busy with community theater, choral society, and recording books for the blind. She keeps in touch with Sue Gannon, Monie Malcolm Smith, Bunnie Greenbaum Singer, Marcie Clauson Gray ’54, and Patty Walton Osmond. Patty and husband Bob stopped in for a visit on their way to Florida in February.

Diana Pascal spent the holidays in Paris with two grandchildren, who are studying French in middle school.

Monie Malcolm Smith swam with the whales and their babies off the coast of the Dominican Republic, along with National Geographic photographers and naturalists observing whale behaviors for five days. Monie and Sue Gannon had a wonderful lunch last summer, during which Monie shared a tape of swimming with the whales.

Dora Gisiger McWhite spent two weeks in Spain last summer. For one week she and a friend taught English to young Spanish professionals at a resort in the mountains. The program is called Pueblo Ingles, total immersion for the Spaniards. The oldest Anglos, they “couldn’t quite keep up with the all-night partying, but it was great fun.” She continues to enjoy her part-time job as a small-claims-court mediator and volunteering for the local hospice.

Tracy Guthrie had a wonderful year on the ranch; the cattle look great. She attended Super Bowl XLI in Miami and had three events at the ranch in June—including a benefit for Rollins Brook Community Hospital (which cleared $36,000), a friend’s family reunion, and a big wedding. Tracy traveled to Philadelphia for her sister’s 80th birthday. Her former Courtyard Café reopened as a steakhouse in November. She sends best wishes and says, “Come visit!”

In December Jackie Loohn Stempfle and Bill attended the wedding of an old friend in Connecticut. Their three daughters were also there: Susan from Oregon, Gretchen from Georgia, and Anne from North Carolina. It was a good family reunion, and Bill’s 75th birthday was also celebrated with many friends.

Nancy Passaro Whittaker spent Christmas with her eldest grandson, George, his wife, and their three children in Turlock, CA. Her children and other grands and greats were on hand; the clan numbered 35. She has three new great-grands—boy-and-girl twins and another girl, all 10 months old. She is a part-time nursing supervisor.

Carole Stewart Schneidewind and Gil celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in December with a Caribbean cruise. She says, “We are still happy together!”

Bryna Cohen Potsdam sees Nancy Sulkin Marin, and they were wondering if anyone has heard about Myrna Edelman Wagman or Rhonda “Cookie” Smith Marcus. Buzzie has been married 45 years. Her husband, Jay, is building a 28-foot fishing boat. One of their twin sons is an aeronautical engineer; the other is a college professor. Buzzie plays tennis, goes to exercise and osteocise classes at the gym, and considers herself truly blessed with an abundance of wonderful friends from kindergarten days to recent years.

In Rehoboth, MD, last summer Barbara Thomas Green was together with her family—all 17 of them, including 10 grandchildren ages 4 to 22. Her oldest grandchild graduated from Frostburg University in December. Her niece’s daughter married a Skidmore graduate in July, generating a reunion of sorts. She spent Christmas in Wayne, PA, with both daughters and their families.

A widow for seven years, Monique Villedrouin Salgado has a full life still with her growing family. Her nieces and nephews are either engaged, married, or parents. In California she enjoys the stimulation of life in the Bay Area. She has enjoyed some marvelous trips to Europe and Asia, which have truly expanded her love for the world.

Diane Davis Nelson enjoyed having several kids visit for Thanksgiving. She and Jim enjoyed a short cruise to Mexico and several days at Disney World. They stay active playing golf.

Bobbi Gordon Spiegel has moved to an island off Portland, ME. Her daughter, who lives in Freeport, ME, drove Bobbi and her car from Florida. Bobbi’s granddaughter has applied to Skidmore. Husband Pricer is recovering nicely from recent surgery.

Glenna Green Citrin
is off to Botswana for a safari. Granddaughter Alexandra Citrin ’09 is at Skidmore, and two other grandchildren are at Dartmouth and Wesleyan.

Anne Griggs Danzberger enjoyed Christmas with daughters Jennifer and Stephanie Pierson ’91 and their fiancés. Anne later headed to Florida, stopping in Atlanta to visit daughter Priscilla, husband, Dana, and 9-month-old grandson Tyle.

Nancy Mathis Engen’s husband, Harry, still makes three trips annually to Guatemala, to help their missionary daughter with her school. He takes 100 volunteers each year. Nancy is still teaching in Maryland state prisons. Their youngest granddaughter went to school this year, leaving Nancy with no little ones at home.

Margo Mound Drucker and Stanley welcomed their first grandson in December. This is the first boy in the family, which includes three daughters and three granddaughters.

Sue Pynn Beamish had a hip replacement in January and is back on her horse. She visited her sister in New Hampshire and her daughters in Portugal and Maryland. Grandson Tomas is a sophomore at Hobart; he loves everything about it except the cold Geneva, NY, weather. Sue paints, shows, and sells her watercolors in Portugal.

Sallie Holland Corish has five grandchildren and most recently welcomed the child of her daughter, who became a mother at age 44. Sallie’s 80th birthday
is in September, and she has a full and happy life.

A follow-up note on Jacquie Wilson Nelson, whose death was noted in the winter issue: An inductee into the Rancho Bernardo Hall of Fame, she was honored when the city council dubbed June 27, 2006, “Jacquie Nelson Day.”
