Patrice McEvoy Clapacs has been living in London for three years with husband Brent and children Caitlin, 14, and Alex, 12. The family lives in the heart of the city, where there is always lots to do. The kids love their school and have made great friends.
Jennifer Wolff Perrine announces the arrival of daughter Zoe in January. Jennifer won the Front Page Award for science writing for A Deadly Twist, her exposé on chiropractors, which appeared in Self magazine. Jennifer was also nominated for the National Magazine Award, the highest honor in magazine journalism, for Passport to Cheaper Healthcare?, an article on medical tourism that ran in Good Housekeeping.
Melissa Moffatt Ferrara lives in Saratoga Springs, NY, with son Daniel, 20, a third-year college student in criminal justice, who hopes to be a Saratoga Springs police officer and ultimately a NYS trooper. Melissa is an RN supervisor and has also started her own business, M & E’s Fabric Works, which specializes is reupholstering antique cars (specifically Franklins) from the 1920s and ’30s. Her 89-year-old father recently went to a Skidmore event in Tucson, AZ, where he represented three Skidmore alumni (his late wife, Elaine Baldwin Moffat ’44, Melissa, and his granddaughter Mika Gans ’02).
Bill Ladd has loved getting in touch with everyone about Reunion. He is thankful that the Hollywood writers’ strike is over so he can get back to writing and acting. Bill went to England with his church on the QE2, visiting important Anglican churches and cathedrals. Invited to be a member of Skidmore’s board of trustees, he is looking forward to representing the Class of ’83 and working for “the betterment of our dear college, its traditions, and its future.”
Meredith Heard Gisness is enjoying life north of Boston, teaching yoga and giving guided tours of the Museum of Fine Arts as part of MFA Associates. Married for 17 years, Meredith has two children: Eric, 13, and Hannah, 16.
With a daughter soon to be in college, Stephanie Halliday Kelly felt it was time to take some risks, so she left her post as VP at Cognizant to start a boutique consulting firm, Apt Talent Partners, with two other businesswomen. The firm helps companies plan and manage their human-resource strategy and is headquartered near San Francisco, with offices in Boston, London, and Chennai. She is based in London.
I am still getting used to the idea that my wonderful daughter is going to be attending Sonoma State University this fall. Son Jason, 17, is now starting the college process. At least I will have one at home still—son Ryan, 11, starts middle school this fall. Time certainly does fly by.
