Lisa Randall has been teaching fifth grade at Agna Fria Elementary in Santa Fe, NM, for eight years. She lives with her partner of six years, Brenda, and their two cats.

Karen Fritz Hagen earned a master’s from the University of Virginia and a PhD from Louisiana State University and is now associate professor of history at Victoria College in Texas. “As an undergraduate,” she says, “I knew I wanted to be a professor, so I never really considered what a BA or MA could do for me outside of the teaching field. Over the years, however, I found both degrees quite useful in winning other types of employment.” She has worked as a tour guide at
Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, consulted for an archeological firm in Louisiana, taught in a Louisiana adult-education program, and had various speaking engagements.
