Jessyca Dudley established the Building Fund, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to helping fund schools and scholarships in Ghana, West Africa, in 2005. A former volunteer at the Tuskegee International School there, she was appalled by the condition of the classrooms, which had no running water, toys, and scant textbooks. Upon her return to the US, Jessyca pulled together international resources to support her goal. She was recently interviewed about her work in onPhilanthropy, an online publication of the Future Leaders in Philanthropy organization.
Andrea Bergart received a Fulbright Scholarship to study and teach in Ghana, Africa, for the coming academic year. She is one of only 120 students nationwide selected as student-ambassadors for 26 African countries, and the first painting student selected in more than 10 years. She recalls declaring, “I want to go to Ghana!” after being introduced to that country by her second-grade teacher.
Bill Haydon finished an MBA at UMass-Amherst with a 3.71 GPA this year and has taken a position in wealth management with UBS Bank in New Haven, CT.
