Dorothy Jamieson Chamberlin has lived at Abbey Delray, a retirement life-care
facility in Delray Beach, FL, for the past six years and finds it an excellent
solution to the problem of living alone. She has two sons, a daughter-in-law,
and three grandchildren.

Our late classmate
Helen Corbitt was selected as "Tastemaker of the Century" in
a feature story in the December Texas Monthly. In part, it reads, "Into
this bleak culinary landscape came a young Irish Catholic Yankee named Helen Corbitt.
In a career that spanned nearly 40 years in Texas, she delivered us from canned
fruit cocktail, plates of fried brown food, and too much bourbon and branched
us into a world of airy souffles, poached fish, chanterelle mushrooms, fresh salsify
. . . and fine wine. She was a creative pioneer who came here reluctantly and
learned to love us." Oh, yes, the piece does mention her Skidmore connection.
Those of you who would like to read this long fascinating account can request
a copy from the Office of Alumni Affairs.
I'm sorry to
report the death of Mary Thomspon in October of a stroke.
