New academic VP
John Berman, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty, stepped down from that position in early January to return to teaching and research. Having come to Skidmore in fall 2000, he will assume his tenured position as a professor of psychology. President Jamienne S. Studley thanked Berman “for his commitment to Skid-more…and his contributions to our work and progress.”
Charles Joseph, associate dean of the faculty and professor of music, will serve as interim vice president and dean. He joined the Skidmore faculty in 1985 and brings to this role “an impressive record of teaching, scholarship, and service, and a strong commitment to the liberal arts,” according to Studley.
