Scribner serenade
Skidmores president, Jamienne S. Studley (center), joins about two hundred freshmen offering a late-night serenade. After a Labor Day ice-cream social to kick off the new school year, the Skidmore newcomers gathered in front of Scribner Housewell after midnightand charmed the president out onto the porch with songs from 70s pop classics to the Skidmore alma mater. The sing-in was organized by the Traditions Committee of the Student Government Association, in hopes of reviving the popular presidents-house serenades of yesteryear. In fact, the committee invites alumni with recollections of campus caroling and serenades to share their stories by writing c/o Scope or e-mailing srosenbe@skidmore.edu.
