Bel Rising Smith enjoyed a Great Lakes cruise from Chicago to Montreal with daughter Lisa ’84. Afterward, they spent a “lovely” week at Elk Lake and Lake Placid in the Adirondacks. They also visited Skidmore, where Bel was amazed by the number of computers in Scribner Library.

Virginia Miller Lyon, Mary Miller Solari, and their sister Nancy were featured in the September 3 issue of Arizona’s Green Valley News & Sun, describing the many ways they work out to keep fit. The trio was photographed wearing “Only the Wise Exercise” T-shirts, which they had designed and printed.

Jean Ann Stirling Horton’s granddaughter Rebecca ’08 has signed up for lots of extracurricular activities and loves Skidmore. Jean was there for Celebration Weekend in October and also attended parents’ weekend at Penn State, where grandson Sean is a freshman. Another grandchild, Alexandra, participates in a junior honors program at Carnegie-Mellon that includes international travel.

Sadly, Barbara Fitch Beckett’s husband, George, died in October after a long illness. We extend class sympathy to Fitchie and her family.

Please note that I have a new address in effect until April. After selling my Chatham, MA, home in just two days, I decided that even thinking about yard work was no longer my thing. After much tossing out of old raincoats and chipped glasses, the household goods are in storage until I decide where to settle next.
