Jane Walsh Berry sent a card to reiterate what fun she had at our 50th reunion. She and I had reconnected years ago when our kids attended the same grammar school in Verona, NJ.
In August Cynthia Kain Wigton and husband Dick had a great time in “Toga Town,” attending the Palamountain Polo Benefit, at which former first lady Anne Palamountain was recognized for 25 years of service to the college. “The tremendous enthusiasm for Skidmore was impressive,” notes Cynthia. She and Dick winter in Vero Beach, FL, and spend the rest of the year on golf courses near their home in Morristown, NJ. They also make frequent trips to visit two of their three children and three grandchildren in Colorado.

In the small-world department, Louise “Petey” Berke Wulff met up with Carol Claflin Kurtz at a cocktail party that Claf’s niece Sandra Atkinson Wagner ’67 gave for her great-nephew’s engagement. When Claf walked in to the shindig she was looking at all the local folks she knew, but out of the corner of her eye she saw someone completely out of context. Petey, she soon came to realize, is the bride-to-be’s aunt.

I underwent eye surgery to correct a hole in my retina in August. After several weeks there were still remains of the gas bubble that was inserted, which made typing somewhat problematic for a time. As usual, my summer was spent on the Isle of Springs in Maine.
