Jane Fennell Donovan spent the summer perfecting a new golf swing. She was so successful that she won the “low net” award at a senior golf tournament at the Queensbury (NY) Golf Club in September. In the winter she keeps busy knitting and doing embroidery. When her back gets tight from too much sitting, she loosens up by swinging a heavy golf club in the garage. She credits her health to the wonder “designer genes” passed on from her mother, who reached age 96.

Helen Hall Clark has six grandchildren and two great-grands—one in Texas (who she has seen several times) and a new addition in North Carolina (who she hopes to meet soon).
Betty Stilz Weiss traveled to Maine for a Cleveland Yachting Club trip this past fall. “It’s always fun,” she comments.

According to the alumni office, five of the 50 remaining members of our class will reach the age of 90 this year. I’m one of them and feel great. So does Compie (better known as Agnes Compton Stierwald to any “non-Kates of ’38” who may read this), with whom I recently enjoyed a great conversation. She still plays the piano (remember, “if you can hum it, you can play it”), paints with watercolors, and recently exhibited at her third show.
