Marjorie Staub teaches nursery school at Park School in Brookline, MA. Daughter Jenny is completing her last year of architecture school at Columbia University, and daughter Sarah graduated from Trinity College. Son Dan is a freshman at Concord Academy.

Jane Kreplick Brody and husband Sam visited Peggy Sager Tobin and husband Jim at their home in Asheville, NC. Jane was on sabbatical from the nursing department of Nassau Community College, where she is developing a program to help combat obesity in the college community. She and Peggy spent a wonderful morning being pampered at the Grove Park Inn Spa, followed by lunch with their husbands on the Sunset Terrace overlooking the Smokey Mountains.

Connie Terry Ferguson completed her second year as president of the Dorset Field Club and now has time to play. Daughter Abby, 25, has begun her doctorate in clinical child psychology.

Marcia White’s daughter Kate is a freshman at the University of Miami. For hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma, students were locked in their hurricane-proof dorms, with windows shielded by strong metal shutters. During Katrina, Kate and her comrades were sequestered for four days and nourished by cold cereal from the dining halls. By the time Rita hit, Kate and her roommate had stocked up on food and DVDs. Before Wilma shut down the school for 10 days, disaster-savvy Kate got one of the last flights out of Florida and spent the extended fall break at home in Santa Fe, NM. Marcia observes that her daughter’s experience was “quite a bit different from my first semester at Skidmore!”

A correction to the fall issue of Scope: It’s Michele Meekin Miller (not Susie Sparks) who manages the Experience Music Project in Seattle, WA. Susie lives and works in San Francisco.
