Richard Laxer, a 22-year GE veteran, was named president and CEO of GE Capital Solutions, which has leasing, financing, and asset management operations in 30 countries and assets of more than $92 billion. Prior to his current role, he led GE corporate financial services’ London-based European businesses, after running the company’s Asia Pacific real-estate activities in
2001 to 2001.

Filmmaker Steven Rosenbaum made archival footage and thousands of clips from his 9/11 film
7 Days in September available for free viewing on Google.com for several weeks this past fall.
The award-winning film, which captured the emotions of videographers documenting 9/11, premiered in 2002 at the Smithsonian Institute and in theaters around the country. The New
York Times described the documentary as “perhaps the most thoughtful and emotionally
engaging film to come out of the attack on the World Trade Center.”

Bill Ladd was watching the Bravo channel one night this past fall and spotted old friend Lydia Porter ’81 on the show Million Dollar Listing. Observes Bill: “See, watching TV is good.”
