Staff and faculty
members put their
names in for a prize drawing at the “Creative Thought Bold Promise” campaign’s
on-campus celebration. Among the speakers, Jonathan Brestoff ’07 and Lauren Seebacher ’08 warmly thanked
the professors, safety officers, and
cooks who have guided and nurtured them. Festivities included a gourmet dinner catered
by restaurateur (and Skidmore trustee) Steve Sullivan ’78, as well as music by Garland Nelson ’96 and Soul Session, Laura Anderson Wood ’79 with Joe Sallins, and student a cappella groups. The event was emceed by campus-campaign
chairs Jeff Segrave, Porter Professor and exercise scientist; Ralph Ciancio, professor emeritus
of English; and Monica Minor, director of Skidmore’s opportunity programs.
As they reminded
the crowd, strong participation by faculty and staff is widely seen as a
compelling insiders’ confirmation of
the campaign’s value and vision. —SR
