Miles Halpern joined the art faculty of Kishwaukee College in Illinois, where he teaches 2-D art, intro to art, and art appreciation classes. He holds an MFA in painting from Pennsylvania State University and a BFA in painting from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago.
Gayley Ann Carillo married Peter Avery on October 14 in West Brookfield, MA. Gayley is marketing director at DC Comics in NYC. Michael is an associate at the Newark office of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, specializing in labor and employment law.
Ordained minister Elsa Peters is contributing editor for the new e-zine Fidelia’s Sisters (www.youngclergywomen.org), launched in October. An outgrowth of the Young Clergy Women Project, the publication features stories about clergy women under 40. Elsa’s column is a serial novel about the life of a fictional young ordained woman. Elsa is also on the board of CWP, which sponsors an online community of ordained women from three countries, 34 states, and 14 denominations.
High-school sweethearts Aaron Cohen and Jessica Ratey were married July 29 in Cambridge, MA. In attendance were Keith Watkins, Gareth Hughes, Rachel Sayko, Meg Murphy, Josh Goldman, Jackie Shaw ’99, Chrissy Auro, and Rachel Desjardins. The Rev. Addison Hall, father of the late John Hall ’03, officiated at the ceremony. Jessie the director of English for Action, a nonprofit servicing the Latino community in Providence, RI. Aaron was tour manager of Addison Groove Project for a few years before signing at marketing agency BzzAgent, owned by Dave Balter ’93. The couple will be moving to the Boston area this spring.
