Marylyn Taylor Mooney and husband Ed, no longer active sailors, live on the west coast of Florida. The couple met up with Joan Kreuser Noone and husband Roger in Punta Gorda for a mini-reunion. The Mooneys then attended a blues festival to hear son John, a New Orleans musician, play. Their older grandson has been asked to ski in some Warren Miller movies. Lyn doesn’t do much painting but enjoys lettering. The Noones are tearing down their old house in Florida and building a new one on the same property. Joan enjoys hearing from other Skiddies.
Betsy Morison Allen has struggled with health challenges but is doing better now. She cut back on volunteer activities, except for her job with a food pantry. Tired of scraping snow off her car during the Vermont winters, she is longing for a garage and thinking of selling her home and moving into an apartment.
Nancy Howie got together with Peggy Sharpe Whitehead and Mary Stirling Campbell in March. They reminisced about old Skidmore buddies and had a few laughs. Everyone is doing pretty well.
Ginger Morgan Travis recently sailed around the Greek Isles to view the ruins, which required climbing hills. She also visited Pompeii.
Loisjane Perry Vannorsdall enjoyed a reunion in Florida with Cynthia Perry Newton ’59 and Charon Perry Sisler ’59. Loisjane’s sisters were also there to celebrate their brother’s birthday. Lois is now a proud grandmother of eight: six girls and two boys ranging in age from 2 to 22. She keeps herself busy visiting them all. Lois also enjoyed a good trip to former Eastern Bloc countries last October.
My oldest grandchild is working toward a career in forensic pathology at the University of Pennsylvania. Another granddaughter graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech and is pursuing a master’s degree in psychology, also at Penn.
