Former Kent, CT, residents Nancy Smith Bushnell and husband Vic Reiling now live full-time in Sarasota, FL. Nancy feels like they are on permanent vacation and “still waiting to wake up!” She encourages classmates to get in touch when passing through.

Married for 45 years, Barbara Koweek Phillips (biphill@sbcglobal.net) is living in Newtown, CT, and has six grandchildren. She retired in 2001 as director of human resources for the state’s largest bank and is now CEO of her own management consulting firm (www.bphillipsassociates.com). Barbara’s passions are tennis, golf, reading, hiking, and traveling. She has visited over 45 countries so far. She is a volunteer in child-abuse prevention and the United Way.

Diane Macht Solomon and husband Todd are delighted to announce the July marriage of their daughter Amy to Ross Mandell in Aruba. They gained both a son and two wonderful grandchildren: Devon, 9 and Logan, 4. Diane says, “Now I have pictures and grandchildren stories to share with my friends!”

In June Nancy Cutter Parker got together with Glenda Arentzen, Brenda Baekey Mihan, Linda Blanquart Smith, Bobbie Mann Bigham, and Lynn Pringle Anastos in Philadelphia for three “hysterical and very wonderful days.” Arriving in “a killer heat wave,” they survived in hotel rooms with air conditioning, cheese, crackers, and wine; they also toured the best sights, ate at fantastic restaurants, and laughed a lot. In September, Nancy and Bill also shared a wonderful lunch with Lynn Garrett Meyer and George in September on their way to Lake Tahoe. Nancy’s son Gregg, who has been a pastor in Istanbul, Turkey, is now a university chaplain and teacher at Haigazian University in Beirut, Lebanon. “I thought going from California to Skidmore was an adventure!” comments Nancy. Fortunately, daughter Joan and her husband and two daughters live a bit closer.

After living in Montpelier, VT, for 42 years, Pat Graham Stotler and husband John now winter in Naples, FL, and summer in Dayton, OH, to be closer to daughter Elizabeth and her family. Elizabeth and her husband recently adopted a baby from Ethiopia, the Stotlers’ first grandchild. With John retired for 12 years now, they have been able to do more traveling—including boating on the canals of France, where they enjoy the sights and food. Being a French major has made the experience richer and more pleasant, says Pat. She would love to get in touch with other Skiddies in Naples or around Dayton. She can be reached at JoStotler@aol.com.

In 2007 I retired from 21 years in commercial service at the US Department of Commerce. My husband and I have joined a gym and exercise three times a week. This has given us the stamina to have our son Marshall’s 2-year-old son with us 24/7: Marshall recently returned from an 18-month deployment to Iraq as a medic. Now discharged from the Army, he is working with Fidelity Investments. Our daughter Jennifer and her husband, Andy, live nearby with son A. J., 4, and Suzanna, 9 months. We see a lot of them and love being grandparents. Ben and I traveled to Europe in 2007, stayed withmy brother in Brussels and toured Belgium, then headed to Prague and Paris—a wonderful experience. That December, we joined 20 other members of our church and celebrated New Year’s Eve in Keflavik, Iceland, where we witnessed a world-famous three-day fireworks show and swam in a hot Blue Lagoon geyser. We are building a retirement home here on the edge of the White Mountains and selling our present one.
