Nancy Civetta put her culinary PR firm, Civetta Comunicazioni, on hold for three years in order to dedicate her professional time and resources to the Pew Environment Group’s “End Overfishing in New England” campaign. She serves as communications director, “an amazing opportunity to deepen my knowledge and expertise in an area I care so much about,” and describes the transition from the company and clients she loved to this new venture as “thrilling but bittersweet.” She welcomes personal e-mail at nancy@civettacom.com and has another e-mail address available upon request to alumni in the media, fisheries, or environmental industries.

Chrys-Anthony Booker loves life in San Francisco, CA, where he appeared in the new Jerry Metzker play His Heart Belongs to Me at Theatre Rhinoceros last year. He has been in rehearsals for Beijing/California, a play shopped with writer Paul Heller and director Duy Nguyen over the last year and a half. The play imagines America’s collapse to Third World status and occupation by China. Although he hasn’t performed live music lately, Chrys-Anthony continues to write songs, record instrumentals, and nurture a local Bay Area indie rock band. He is also collaborating with a stop-animation artist and director to produce the score for her next project short. His singer/songwriting project, Unda Your Pilot, will be released this year, when he hopes to return to performing live music. Chrys-Anthony remains “tied to the hip” of Leslie Rossman-Nelson ’87 and keeps tabs on the world travel of Cindy Petrillo-Gootjes. He had the pleasure of reconnecting recently with Vinca Jarrett and Karen Ryland via LinkedIn.com. Anne Lane Salice shares news about freshman roommate Sarah Previte Hamilton, whose world changed in 2007 when Anne and her husband learned that their daughter Caroline, age 6 at the time, had an inoperable tumor in her brain. Caroline has endured two protocols of toxic chemotherapy, and the Hamiltons formed “Team Chickaroo” (www.chickaroo.org) to support a research program at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeking better treatment options. In September Anne and Sarah were joined by Helen Miller Higgins and Mary Linn Schantz Fenstermaker in representing Team Chickaroo in the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk. The friends had a wonderful reunion and helped raise nearly $55,000 for research.

Maria DeMarco Beardsley celebrated 20 years with NYC’s Museum of Modern Art, where she is coordinator of exhibitions. Although she has enjoyed it, the job has become “20 times as stressful” over time. Maria and her husband live in Scotch Plains, NJ, with children Sofia, 5, and Alana, 3. Maria stays in touch with Karen Chase-Bravman, Carrie Grady, and Vinca Jarrett.

After three years as assistant federal public defender in Richmond, VA, Carrie Grady still loves her job. She is looking forward to working on our 25th reunion and encourages classmates to contact her at Racness@aol.com with ideas or energy to commit to our fun weekend.

Norwood Creech’s 6-foot painting, Milo Diptych aka Monster Milo, was selected for inclusion in the 2009 Artists of Arkansas Day Planner/Calendar (available through www.tbib.com). The original has been sold. Another painting, Field with Vetch, was featured in the Artists of Arkansas exhibition this fall in the Little Rock offices of Senator Mark Pryor and at the historic River Market during the Helena Blues and Heritage festival in October. Norwood (woodc@eritter.net) and her husband are building a 30-by-50-foot studio next to their house.

Roger Stein, CEO of the New South Ocean Development Company, is planning a resort project on 385 acres of pristine shoreline in Nassau, the Bahamas. The exclusive development will encompass hotels, a yacht marina, spa, retail outlets, tennis center, and residential components. Roger is also an accomplished musician, music producer, and owner of indie record label Iguana Records. He has worked with many international recording artists, including Keith Richards, the Neville Brothers, the Meters, Bonnie Raitt, and Branford Marsalis. He holds a JD from Duke Law School and lives with his wife and daughter in NYC’s Soho and the Bahamas.
