Stacey Gerrish lives in Edwards, CO, with a dog and two cats. She oversees hiring and training for a 900-member instructor staff for the Beaver Creek Ski & Snowboard School. Although she hikes and bikes too, Stacey confesses to being “addicted” to skiing. She also tries to spend about a month in Vermont with her family every summer. Stacey recently walked 60 miles in three days in the Seattle Komen Breast Cancer Walk for the Cure and says, “It was an amazing experience and, aside from two blisters, I felt great!” Amy Andrews Brennan visited this fall; they had a great time in Vail Valley. Stacey was sorry to have missed Reunion.
Christian Hillabrant celebrated his 43rd birthday in NYC with Steven Knobel and Michael Sheinfield this past fall. The three had a great time “reminiscing about their old Scribner days.”
Marisa McCullough is married to Cris Tejeda. They live in Acton, MA, with sons Max, 16, Oliver, 14, William, 12, and daughter Caroline, 10. Marisa is involved with her children’s activities and schools. A former high-school field hockey coach, she is currently teaching Caroline the sport. Marisa’s sons are also busy with sports, including football, basketball, baseball, and lacrosse.
Marisa is in touch with Janet Heffernan Mondani, who lives in Danville, CA, with a boy and two girls. She also hears from Tara Greco in Cambridge, MA, and Kristiina Roberts Almy, who lives in Shelborne, MA. Marisa loves reading about what other people are doing in Scope because “every name evokes a great memory.” She has attended every reunion and doesn’t plan to miss our 25th.
Ceci Zak McGuire and husband Mike bought a home in Essex Fells, NJ, last year. Ceci loves being a stepmom to Mike’s three incredible kids, Chris, Brian, and Katie. Ceci was promoted to VP for general therapeutics marketing at Sanofi-Aventis; her work is focused on allergy, anesthesiology, hypertension, and osteoporosis products.
Sarah Horton lives in Sharon, MA, with husband Dave and children Savannah, 13, and Haley, 10. She enjoys her work for an interior design company in Newton. Savannah celebrated her bat mitzvah last June. The family recently acquired a Labradoodle puppy named Jasper—Sarah’s first pet, and “He is so cute!” she says. Since joining Facebook, she has reunited with several classmates and friends.
Anne Bennett Byers and Russell Byers ‘88 stay busy with sons Russell, 10, Frick, 7, and Zander, 5. Anne tries to get to the barn to ride as much as possible. Russell, on the other hand, has taken up kiteboarding. “He’s very good and hooked on it!” says Anne.
Hervey Kimball reports that things are pretty good and busy in Boston.
Adam Skolnik and Stephen Malasky ’88 are fighting the real-estate downturn in Baltimore, MD, and Palm Beach, FL, respectively. This past summer they took time out to visit Saratoga Springs, staying on campus in the new Northwoods Village Apartments and hitting the track often. They even saw a horse owned by the Callahan clan win a race! Adam says, “Fun was had by all.”
Linda Gowell Nelson has lived in NYC’s West Village since graduation. She is a union educational administrator for a nonprofit. She reports that she doesn’t have any kids yet but “takes great trips instead!” Over the last 10 years, she has toured countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. Linda claims the travel bug bit her after spending her junior year abroad in France.
Gary Bader is an accountant living in Florida. He had such a great time at our last reunion that he decided to volunteer for our 25th reunion committee. Already busy phoning classmates to invite them back to campus, he successfully won over Chris Wilson, who says he will “definitely be there.”
Amy Shore and husband Dave are adjusting to having eldest daughter Miranda, 16, join the ranks of licensed teenage drivers. “So, far, so good.” Amy continues as an adoption counselor working with birth mothers in Houston, TX.
Gary Rosenberg and wife Jill are blessed to have two beautiful daughters, Jessica and Rachel, who are second- and fifth-graders, respectively. The family had a great summer. Gary’s golf business, TOUR GCX, is “growing nicely,” with over 1,500 members enjoying access to a national network of private golf clubs. A recent rendezvous with Jim Friedland in East Hampton featured iced coffee and bagels instead of shots of tequila—“refreshing, but oh, how things change.” In NYC
Gary caught up with Nick DeJanosi, Rob Kelly, Dave Resnick ’86, Will Pouch ’86, Andy Johnson ’86, Ian Selig ‘86, and Joe Grillo ’86 for “a night of boozing and live music.” Gary, who stays in touch with Craig Tinkelman, was glad to help celebrate the bat mitzvah of Tink’s daughter last year.
Liz Daugherty traveled from her home in Sacramento, CA, to participate in her fifth Burning Man art event, a celebration of experimental art, community, and self-expression held in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert this past fall. Liz is managing editor for the Urban Levee Geotechnical Evaluations Program for URS Corporation, a construction and design firm. The first of its kind nationwide, the program has partnered with the State of California to assess urban levee conditions and is garnering a lot of national attention.
Chris “Sperry” Perry lives in Connecticut with wife Lisa and their daughters, Carlyn, 6, and Anna, 4. He reports that everything’s great, but the kids are “growing like weeds.” They recently went camping with Pete Madden and his family. “The kids had a blast!”
I traveled with husband Luke and our daughters—Callie, 11, Christian, 9, and Cameron, 5—to Deer Valley, UT, the Cayman Islands, Italy, Williamsburg, VA, and Saratoga Springs. I even took solo trips, one to Japan that was well worth the flight, and another to visit Amy Baptiste Nelson in Atlanta, GA. Amy, whose family includes husband Allen, children Katie and Teddy, and two dogs, started a successful style-consulting firm and writes a monthly column for a local paper. While I was there, Amy and I met up with Sam Bayne ‘86 at a dinner party and reminisced about Skidmore. I am happy to be taking on the role of class secretary. I had so much fun putting together the alumni booklet with Ceci Zak McGuire and working on the 20-year reunion committee, headed by Laura Shippee Hart. I am looking forward to keeping up with you all on a regular basis as we move toward our 25th.
