Tyler Colman’s book Wine Politics: How Governments, Environmentalists, Mobsters and Critics Influence the Wines We Drink (University of California Press) “tells the tale of wine in France and America through the lens of industry politics.” He adds, “With the dollar’s decline, the book costs a lot less than a good burgundy and has a longer finish.” To find out more, visit www.DrVino.com.
In June Juliet D’Annibale won two daytime-television Emmys for her work as producer and director of the Giada De Laurentiis food shows Everyday Italian and Weekend Getaways. Juliet lives in NYC.
Gordon Goldschleger and wife Chun Chu welcomed their first child, Gwen, on June 10. They are “a very happy mathematical family with G to the fourth power and a C squared.” They are still living in Toronto, and are happily taking advantage of Canada’s one-year maternity leave.
Holter Graham is co-starring on Wasted, an environmental home show on “Planet Green,” Discovery’s green lifestyle network. Holter and his co-host ambush average Americans, force them to see the error of their ways, and try to teach them new tricks. Holter is “absurdly happy to be doing TV that actually helps the world.” President of the New York local of AFTRA, the performers’ union, he helped negotiate their prime-time TV contract, avoiding another entertainment strike. He recently competed in his first half-Iron Man and is in training for his second New York marathon, “aiming to break three hours and 20 minutes.” His wife, Neela Vaswani ’96, is a visiting artist in residence at Knox College, teaching writing and interdisciplinary cultural studies. She earned a PhD at the University of Maryland last year.
Wendy Prior Fentress is a correspondent on the NBC show First Look New York. She lives in the NYC area with her husband and three kids. She is in touch with Naomi Odes and reports that Nicole Brown McDermott moved to the mountains of Colorado with her husband and two boys. Wendy saw Brooke Gaffney Redmond this summer, which was just as fun and entertaining as in the old days. Brooke had her second baby boy this spring.
