Beth Lucas Smith’s husband, Duncan, and daughter Ella, 4, welcomed Lucas on March 25. He is the great-grandson of Jane Pearce ’42. Beth is a child psychiatrist and assistant professor at the University of Buffalo.

Kelly Van Zile married Andrew Grusetskie on March 1. Kelly is an actor, producer, and executive communications coach. She and Andrew, also an actor, met when they performed together in Proof in 2002. Among the friends there to celebrate their marriage were Rebecca Caban, Christine Collins, Katie Bradford Dillehay, Liz Thompson, Neela Vaswani, Jesse Blockton, Jason Brown ’97, Marc Lesser, Darren Lilien, Alex Goldberg ’94, Matt Neely ’95, John Sloan, Holter Graham ’94, and Allen Towbin ’94. The newlyweds live in NYC.

Mark Saks and his wife celebrated their fifth anniversary with the birth of their daughter Mia. She is the granddaughter of Norma Saks ’68 and niece of Brad Saks ’00.

Vanessa Biery married Adam Lazzarini in East Hampton, NY, on October 3. Vanessa is a freelance executive recruiter for investment-banking and asset-management companies. Adam is an ortho­pedic surgeon. They live and work in Walnut Creek, CA.

Dan Klotz has been volunteering as the US representative of the national Olympic basketball teams from the African nation of Cape Verde. The teams competed in a pre-Olympic tournament, the highest level the team has so far achieved, playing against New Zealand and Germany.
